"papa," the children call me: musings, vignettes, occasional poems

these are the wonders of being a stay-at-home papa.

Is it enough? And is it just?
A muffin offering, to the white-haired man
with the white beard
who walks around holding his loose pants up.
Why not a sandwich?
A short while back, two girls in exercise clothes
each gave him a water bottle.
One can only do so much. The world is large.
But let’s say there’s nothing
else but us. And asking for help may or may not
be answered. Why not just
do our part? We know kindness is in us.
